Teen dies from injuries sustained in fatal fire

Sept. 6, 2016, Thames Centre, Ont. - Police say a teenager has died days after a house fire that also took the life of a 21-year-old man.

The OPP say they’re working with the Ontario Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire, which happened in the southwestern Ontario town of Dorchester at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say Lauren Duesbury, 19, of Thames Centre, Ont., was critically injured in the fire, and remained in hospital until she died several days later.

They say that Ryan Parsons, 21, also of Thames Centre, was found dead at the scene of the fire.

They’re investigating his cause of death.

Police say a 19-year-old man, whose name hasn’t been released, escaped the fire with minor injuries and has been sent home from hospital.
